The foundation of our company was established in 1956 by Gertrude Otto. This foundation has remained the guiding principle of our work for over 50 years. The structure built on it has steadily grown over the years—both figuratively and literally. Initially, the "Gertrude Otto Property Management" oversaw three properties. The Otto family grew the business on their own strength and expanded it over time.

The building at Riemergasse 8 in Vienna’s 1st district was acquired and remains the headquarters of OTTO Immobilien to this day.
The apartment hotel at Riemergasse 8 opens, featuring elegant apartments with modern 4-star comfort and concierge services.
He learned the real estate business from the ground up. With great dedication and a clear vision, he developed a new business division just two years later, in 1982. He laid the foundation for a successful career in brokering houses and apartments, quickly establishing himself as a reliable partner for his clients. This early course-setting continues to shape the company today and forms the basis for the later success of OTTO Immobilien.
A small green Mini brought Eugen Otto to his first business deal in 1982. "Every challenge is an opportunity. This mindset has been with me since 1982, when at the age of 19, I agreed to find apartments for two international managers. My mother, who ran a respected property management company, was skeptical. But I found two apartments and successfully brokered both. That’s how I started in the business."
Eugen Otto takes over the family business – the property management division now oversees around 100 properties. The founding of Dr. Eugen Otto GmbH marks the beginning of the real estate brokerage division.
He held the position of President of FIABCI, the International Real Estate Federation, from 2001 to 2021.
The first thorough market analysis of Vienna’s historic property portfolio is published.
OTTO Immobilien becomes the exclusive Austrian partner of Knight Frank, the world-renowned real estate advisor, with its headquarters in London.
The "OTTO Immobilien Boutique" opens its doors. Just 100 steps from the main building on Riemergasse 8, at the corner of Zedlitzgasse. The boutique strengthens local presence and offers clients a convenient hub for residential properties right in the heart of Vienna.
OTTO Immobilien is expanding into Quartier Belvedere Central (QBC) at Vienna’s main train station. The move strengthens the company’s presence and enables even better services in a modern environment. The headquarters on Riemergasse 8 will remain in place.
Thanks to the contributions of many, OTTO Immobilien has grown over the years into a large, thriving company that manages the real estate interests and assets of numerous families, businesses, and institutions. Today, OTTO Immobilien is the fourth largest real estate agency in the country, employing over 90 staff members. The company remains family-owned.
